Master Plan Project Information
An Airport Master Plan is a comprehensive, long-range planning document that serves as a guide for future airport growth and demand. The Plan looks to anticipate necessary airport facilities and infrastructure over the next 10-year
and 20-year planning horizons in a logical and financially feasible manner. The previous master plan was completed in 2008. This updated master plan was completed in coordination with Mead & Hunt, Inc., FAA, ADOT and
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA) staff, and was adopted the PMGAA Board of Directors on June 16th, 2020.
Master Plan related materials are available for review below. Throughout the course of the master planning process, draft chapters of the Airport Master Plan referred to as “Working Papers” were made available by Gateway Staff.

The success of the new Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Master Plan required strategic and proactive stakeholder involvement. Two committees, a Stakeholders Working Group and the Technical Advisory Committee, were formed to assist in the guidance
of the Master Plan. Public open houses and multiple Airport Board briefings also occurred in drafting the Plan. Information & materials that went into drafting the Plan are available for viewing below.
Stakeholder Working Group (SWG)
The Stakeholder Working Group (SWG) consisted of aviation and non-aviation constituents throughout the region to provide organizational perspectives and opinions during key project milestones. The SWG met four times to provide strategic guidance
and input on the information gathered during the Plan process.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) provided direction pertaining to specific technical matters during the planning process and were made up of members who were airport tenants or aviation users of Gateway Airport. The TAC also met four
times in review the of Plan working papers and provided feedback to the Airport and Consultant.

Airport Master Plan Open House & PMGAA Board Meetings
Two open house format public information meetings were held during the master planning process. The intent of these meetings was to disseminate information about the Master Plan and give the public an opportunity to learn, provide comments, and
ask questions about future projects at the Airport. The PMGAA Board of Directors also received six (6) briefings on the Plan status throughout the Plan’s development.
