Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Announces J. Brian O’Neill, A.A.E.

MESA, Ariz. — Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority Executive Director Jane Morris today announced the hiring of      J. Brian O’Neill from a national search as the new deputy director. Gateway Airport was the nation’s 39th busiest airport in 2014 with over 228,000 landings and takeoffs and provides nonstop service to 38 destinations via Allegiant Air and service soon to San Diego through Elite Airways.

O’Neill brings over 20 years of commercial airport management expertise to Gateway as the former deputy airport director of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, responsible for administrative and operational functions at a hub airport with approximately 2.1 million passengers and an annual operating budget of $46 million.

“I am delighted to join the Gateway team,” O’Neill said. “I look forward to working with staff and the business community to develop a great business environment with the goal of increasing economic opportunities and community support.”

Airport Authority Executive Director, Jane Morris, praised O’Neill’s management experience as being a good fit for Gateway: “Brian has a proven track record of success in the aviation industry that touches economic development, airline marketing, and airport operations. He has a lifetime of commercial airport management experience and I am pleased to have him join the Gateway team,” said Morris.

O’Neill has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from University of New Hampshire and a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. His professional affiliations include being fully accredited by the American Association of Airport Executives and past member of various Manchester civic boards.
