Gateway Airport Offers Holiday Travel Tips

MESA, Ariz. — Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is known for offering a Just Plane Easy flying experience, and this holiday travel season will be even easier. Earlier this year, in anticipation for the summer season we added a dedicated TSA Pre✓® lane for those passengers who are signed up for the service. In November, the airport modified our Ground Transportation Policy to allow ride sharing companies to operate at the airport. Now, Lyft provides a safe and affordable option to get to and from the airport.

If you are traveling from Gateway, you have two affordable parking options to choose from.  Our terminal parking is $11 a day and located adjacent to the ticketing terminal. Our economy parking lot it located on Ray Road just north of the airport and is $7 a day with shuttle service departing every 7 minutes.

Allegiant Airlines encourages passengers to arrive 2 hours before your departure. Once through security, full food and bar service is available in the terminal at the Copper Plate Bar and Grill and Paradise Bakery.

TSA Checkpoint Tips
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires liquids and gels to be in three-ounce containers or less, packed in a clear, zip-top bag to pass through security. Larger quantities of medically necessary liquids are allowed only at the discretion of TSA screeners.

Food items such as pies and cakes are permitted, but may require further inspection. If travelers are not sure if a food item is considered a liquid or gel, it is best to pack the item in checked baggage or ship it to a destination in advance.

Wrapped gifts are allowed, but not encouraged as the TSA may have to inspect the item. Questions about security screening can be asked on Twitter at @AskTSA or you can check online at www.tsa.gov. You can find a list of what TSA allows online at http://www.tsatraveltips.us/can-i-bring-it-on-an-airplane/
