Mesa, Arizona —Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney this week was elected Chairman of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA). On an annual basis, the PMGAA Board elects a chairman and other officers from the six Board members.
Phoenix Councilwoman Thelda Williams will serve as vice-chair, Mesa Mayor John Giles will serve as secretary, Gilbert Mayor Jenn Daniels will serve as treasurer.
“Gateway Airport is a major economic engine for the entire State of Arizona and has created thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in economic activity,” Chairman Gail Barney said. “I am honored to chair the Board as we work together to build upon the
recent success we have seen with increased development interest and growing commercial passenger traffic. Gateway Airport will play a key role in Arizona’s economic recovery from COVID-19. Job creation and increased economic impact in the surrounding communities
