MESA, Ariz. — The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA) unanimously voted to appoint PMGAA Deputy Director/COO J. Brian O’Neill, A.A.E. as Interim Executive Director/CEO at today’s monthly PMGAA Board meeting. He will
replace outgoing Executive Director Jane L. Morris, A.A.E. who submitted her resignation effective June 2, 2016. O’Neill has served as PMGAA’s Deputy Director since September 2015 and has more than 20 years of progressive airport management experience. Before
joining PMGAA, O’Neill spent eight years as Deputy Airport Director and twelve years as Assistant Airport Director – Business Development, Marketing, and Public Relations at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire.
According to PMGAA Chairwoman and City of Phoenix Councilwoman Thelda Williams, "Brian has spent a majority of his career in successful leadership positions at airports. During his tenure at Gateway Airport, he has impressed the Authority,
tenants, community, and staff with his extensive aviation knowledge and inclusive management style."
PMGAA Board member and Mesa Mayor John Giles added, "There’s much work still to be done developing and improving Gateway Airport. Brian has done a very good job as Deputy Director and we are confident that he will continue to be a tremendous
asset for PMGAA in his new role."
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is a major economic engine and job creator in the greater Phoenix region. Last year, passenger activity at the airport increased by more than four percent and Allegiant added three new nonstop destinations – Des
Moines, Fresno, and Memphis. Allegiant is adding another new nonstop destination, Sonoma County, CA at the end of May.
