Mesa, Arizona —Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (Airport, Gateway
Airport) posted its best April ever with a total of 171,015 air travelers using the Airport during the month, a 43% increase over last April and 8% higher than the record-setting passenger activity in April 2019.
“Gateway Airport now has five airlines serving over 60 nonstop destinations across the U.S. and Canada. We welcome the record number
of air travelers making Gateway their airport of choice,” said Mayor John Giles, Chair of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA) Board.
With passenger traffic numbers exceeding pre-pandemic levels, it is important to remember a few key travel tips to make sure your
trip through the airport is a smooth one.
- Stay on Schedule-Check in online and print your boarding
pass. If you don’t have any bags to check you can go directly to the TSA Security Checkpoint. Airlines suggest travelers arrive two hours prior to departure.
- Plan to Park-Make a parking plan. If you are parking at
the airport, make sure you know where the lots are. During peak travel weekends, the Daily Lot may fill up. There will always be room at the Ray Road Economy Lot. For more info, visit

- Bring Your Appetite- Enjoy a meal or drink at O.H.S.O. Brewery
or Panera Bread, shop at Trip Advisor or Saguaro Mercantile, or relax on one of the outdoor patios.
