Gateway Airport Prepared For Busy Travel Month
Plan ahead to ensure a “plane easy” experience

MESA, Ariz. — March is one of the busiest travel periods of the year at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. With total passenger traffic expected to increase nearly 25% over monthly averages, the Airport Authority recommends the following travel tips:

Arrive early. Gateway will be busy and it is important that travelers give themselves enough time. Arrive at least two hours ahead of your scheduled departure time.

Picking up or dropping off? The Cell Phone Lot is temporarily closed. Use the short-term parking lot located near the Baggage Claim. The first 30 minutes of parking is FREE, $1 per hour after.

Know what is in your bag. Be sure to look through your carry-on bag or purse before coming to the Airport. Remember a forgotten weapon can cause you delays, hassles, and even fines. Visit tsa.gov for information about what can be placed in your carry-on.

Additional Travel Tips:

  • Check flight status before you come to the airport
  • Check Gateway Airport’s Twitter Feed @phxmesagateway for updates on roadway and airport conditions
  • Dining and shopping is available post security via Paradise Bakery, Copper Plate, Arizona Highways, and The Phoenix.
  • Visit www.justplaneeasy.com to view a layout map of the passenger terminal
